PRESS RELEASE: 11-Time Repeat Offender Let Free By DA Stollsteimer Commits 12th DUI

Thornbury Township, PA - Beth Stefanide, candidate for Delaware County District Attorney, issued the following statement:

“You don’t need to be an attorney to understand why someone who commits the same crime 11 times should go to jail. That’s just common sense.

Our current District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer evidently doesn’t agree. He let a serial DUI offender off easy in the summer of 2021 after his 11th DUI offense.

To no one’s surprise, after a light slap on the wrist, the offender went free and proceeded to get his 12th DUI last week, this time after endangering lives by chasing a woman in a road rage incident in Prospect Park Borough.

When I am elected Delaware County District Attorney, under no circumstance will any offender be let free to commit the same crime multiple times, let alone 12 times. That’s no way to keep people safe. That’s no way to lead as the ultimate enforcer of the law in our county.

Accountability for lawbreakers is the cornerstone of public safety. It is time Delaware County had a District Attorney with the courage to advocate for it once again.”
